Pen and ink drawings is essentially a linear technique of creating images. Even with the onslaught of advanced software to create illustrations, somehow the pen and ink method has never lost its appeal. There is something about a pen and ink drawing that exudes sheer talent. You know that the artist began with nothing more than an image in his head, an artistic pen and piece of paper.
Original pen and ink drawings are in great demand for technical, engineering and medical books and publications among other things. Many reprinted classics of literature still employ this method of illustration in keeping with the tradition of the content.
Below are two original samples that were first hand-drawn by a conventional artists pen and then colored in Photoshop.
