Clip art is pre-designed artwork for use in publications or web pages. This ready-made work is extremely useful in terms of being both time saving and economical. You don’t even have to be an artist in order to use clip art. Clip art includes both subject-related illustrations and visual elements such as horizontal lines, bullets, and text separators.
Importance
Imagine you’re hard-pressed for time and rushing to meet a deadline. It may be a publication, newsletter, brochure or the launch of a new website. You notice that the inclusion of a few subtle illustrations or images would make a big difference to your project – but there isn’t enough time to create them. That’s where clip art steps in.
Availability and usage
You can purchase clip art on specialized subjects from Adobe, Corel, and many smaller companies. Clip art and stock photography can be purchased at Photodisc. You can also find much useful clip art for free personal use at many Web sites. For use on a commercial page, make sure you understand any restrictions. Some artwork requires written permission for use or the payment of a fee.
Styles
There are as many styles of clip art as there are the number of vendors that provide them. At Chillibreeze we try to find what you as a customer are actually looking for. While we do have ready-made clip art we have been asked several times by our customers to customize them to suit their requirements. This does require some back and forth but the end result is complete satisfaction at both ends. The customer is satisfied that he did not have to accept what was readily available and could put some originality into the clip art. We are happy that we could do this.
Creating clip art
At Chillibreeze we have a stock of clip art which is ready for use. If there is something you are looking for and don't find there, we would be happy to create the illustrations. For this purpose we use both Illustrator and PowerPoint.
